The Boise Pickleball Club Promotion Committee along with Boise Parks and Recreation (P&R) have been working on plans for a new dedicated 12 or 14 pickleball court facility at Hobble Creek Park behind the YMCA at 5939 Discovery Way, Boise.
Because plans call for changes to the existing park, P&R has a legal obligation to hold a public hearing to solicit input from nearby homeowners.
This hearing is going to be held Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at 5:30 p.m., at Cecil Andrus Elementary (south of Chinden Avenue, first street west of Discovery Lane traffic light).
P&R is also soliciting comments from those not able to attend the meeting.
Comments may be addressed to Kelly Burrows, Project Manager, at firstname.lastname@example.org or (208) 608-7634.
The pb planning committee is pleading for all pbers to attend this meeting.
MOST IMPORTANTLY – our pickleball friends who live within a 2 mile radius of Hobble Creek Park need to be in attendance if at all possible.
There appears to be some opposition to the facility from nearby residents. We believe the negatives are coming from residents who do not know anything about the sport and consequently don’t know how the game is played or taken the opportunity to learn.

We are still growing out there in Idaho PB land!
We now have three (3) PB dual use courts located in Meridians Settlers Park at 3245 N Meridian Rd, Meridian, ID 83646.
The dual use courts have the lines for start up kids’ tennis and PB.
These courts will help lower the traffic of play at Hobble Creek Park and players who live close to Settlers Park can now go play PB at this great facility.
No scheduled days or time, so call your PB friends and go check the park out. You will have to adjust the nets to 34″ in the center.
We just keep growing and growing and growing…
A friendly reminder of our spring-time scheduled BPC play time, days and locations.

Dick & Lawana Johnson will soon be on their way home from Arizona. They are really looking forward to again seeing great friends here in Boise…and, that there really is no place like home!
Dick finished the winter pickleball season in Arizona with a Gold, Bronze, and two Silver medals in several March tourneys.
Most were pretty tough and large with sometimes over 20 teams in one event. Highlights of the season were his Silver at Nationals, two Golds in the Arizona State Championships, and 14 medals overall.
Paula Ekins, Recreation Coordinator, has found another day and 3 more hours in her busy schedule at the Fort Boise Community Center for us to play our game of Pickleball.
Every Wednesday through April from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Fort Boise Community Center
700 Robbins Rd, Boise, ID 83702
Let’s support that time and day and just maybe it will become a permanent scheduled day and time.
When you see Paula be sure and thank her for finding more time for our game.
